Whowhooo my vacation plans are coming into fuition thank God!
I've sent off my downpayment for my cruise in October, bought my train tickets for FW, sent in MY registration form and money for FW and I have a roomie! Now the only aspect I have to really worry about is airfare to Orlando in October and spending money for both trips.
BTW, my cruise is going to be a Halloween cruise. I'm sure there will be a costume party, what should I go as? Something not too flesh baring but still "bitch" enough to wear to a night club. hmmmmmm????
Also, BTW, here is a link to the cruise I'm taking. Yeah!!! I can' wait. https://www.singlescruise.com/Cruise/Package.asp?CurrTab=1&PackageID=35Current Mood: bouncy

Well this place looks a little bit different. Posting is.....weird, but ok.
what to talk about, what to talk about......
It's getting down to the wire for the Bookcrossing Convention. Cutoff date at the hotel is two weeks away. I need two volunteers for some sessions. I think budget wise we are fine. Budget wise I'M ok, but it will be tight personally. I haven't received a yes or no as to wether Ron and Co. are coming or not. I want to offer to pay for their room but I'm not sure if that is fiscally possible yet. I have to figure out how many comp nights we'll have. Then those will go to them.
Any Volunteers for Sessions?: Sessions needing leaders are Release Techniques, Book Talk. If no Ron and Co. at the convention we'll have to fill some time with other topics. That is what is giving me the hee-b-g-bee's right now. *gulp*
Work is still a bug-a-boo that I feel is necessary but unworthy of my grey hairs. Our new illustrious boss has been in office for about 5 months and has been absent for unwork related reasons 18 times. That alone makes me not respect him. The other reason is that he demands certain procedures and checks and balances in the office place then totally ignores them when they pertain to him. If we're ever audited and they look at his files we'll fail.
I dyed my hair brown. :-) Not sure how I like it yet but we'll see. No one at work has seen it yet. I'm going to be sure and look cute on Monday to lessen the impact. I'm just so tired of being blonde, they don't have more fun. Honestly.
Ok that's it for now. I'm feeling motivated to work on convention stuff and get a few "To-Do's" done.
Hasta have a lovely day.Current Mood: anxious

Well I had agreed to a goal of 125. I made it with a few to spare. I have my list as 129 but since I can't for the life of me figure out how I skipped 51 and 52 the official count will be 127. So Far I'm more than confident I'll add at least 3 more to the list before 12/31/04.
( 2004 Goal Achieved!! )
This was really fun. I'll still count in 2005 but the challenge I'm joining next year is the ABC challenge as described in booktalk forum on bookcrossing.com by breakeveryrule. Basically read at least one author you've never read before for every letter in the alphabet using surnames. I can take care of half my list via Mt. TBR and the rest I leave up to fate and or good suggestions. I think I'll keep an updated list on my profile page both here and on bookcrossing.com.
Like I said this was super fun and thanks to whoever suggested it late last year. |

Step One
Make a post (public, friends locked, filtered... whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV"). The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.
Step Two
Surf around your friends list (or friends friends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list.
And now here's the important part:
If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use - or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free - do it.
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out; it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf - to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not - it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just... wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

HAPPY TURKEY DAY!
I'm at my bestfriend's house tonight so I'm using her PC. Yay. Everyone is doing great the baby is doing baby things and doing them wonderfully.
I don't know if y'all remember way back in June when all the drama started happening in my life. But my friend's baby was born with Spinabifida and a club foot. At the time we had no clue how severe or anything but thank the good Lord it wasn't bad at all. He was in NICU for about a week and a half but his surgeries went wonderfully and everything else is hunky-dorey. His shunt is still a little scarey to me but once his hair grows back you won't even see it. He is amazing. (FYI 8 lb 11 oz and 21 inches long)
Went to see Hairspray last night. Awesome show, I really enjoyed it. Plus we had great seats, only about 12 rows back from right center stage. the show Little Shop of Horror is next in December then Chicago in January. I hope to see both. If I can't get free tics to Chicago I'll buy them myself. ;-) But I'll hold out as long as possible for free tics.
I have to work tomorrow. It's my turn since I took the last two "Friday after's" off. But since none of MY bosses will be there I can goof almost all day. Finally maybe I'll be able to catch up on filing! That stuff is driving me nuts.
Anyway I hope everyone ate more than they should have and are now unbuttoning the slack. And just remember.....ONLY 30 SHOPPING DAYS LEFT!!!!

mwah ha ha ha ha ha! I live!!
I'm bored.
My friend had her baby. Still has problems but they are not so insurmountable as we thought. thank God.
I'm going to see Hairspray tonight. That's why I'm still at work.
Convention registration forms are available. If you want a copy email me. my email is the same as my name here (with an underscore) @sbcglobal.net or kristinas203 at yahoo.com. just let me know your email address and I'll send it out.
I've been doing ALOT of reading lately. I messed up my phone bill and now have to wait a while until I can get my DSL back. Yes, friends I had a blonde moment. Anywho, that's why I've been reading alot. No BC or Pogo to distract me. I MISS IT THOUGH!!! Plus I'm getting way too much sleep becuase of it.
I'm still saving money for the cruise I want to take. It's a single cruise (www.singlescruise.com) and i'm real excited. They don't have one scheduled for July or August yet so I can't buy it yet.
BTW, wanna buy raffle tickets for the BC Convention (no attendance necessary) and maybe win a bunch of prizes? It's still going on.
Anywho, that's it.
Did I mention that I'm bored?

Well I thought I wanted to write a big ol' entry right now but my interest level is just nil. I don't know why I've been so turned off by the internet lately but I feel like I just have no patience for anything right now. It's not that I'm in a bad mood or anything or that I don't like the people here, cuz believe me that's not true. My attention span is just super short right now. I'm even finding it very hard to concentrate on books right now unless they're super entertaining. Ugh. And it is soooo annoying.
I guess I'm just so mentally and physically exhausted at the end of the day. They've changed all of our jobs around at work. I'm not happy about it. They're taking me out of Convention Services and putting me into the position of Sales Assistant. I. do. not. like. sales. My job is fun, I get to know our clients, I get to help them when they're in house and before. I feel like part of the operation as Convention Services. As sales, I'll be sitting on my ass typing contracts and letters all fricken day. I won't be part of the action at all. I like the action.
In a desperate bid to keep some action in my job I volunteered to move up to the front and assume the reception area as mine. Blah. It took alot of coaxing to convince myself that it was not a step down. My first order of business is redecorating the place. I've already talked to housekeeping and I'm getting new furniture next week. Right now there are these ugly red victorian gilded sofas in there. I hate them, plus you can barely get out of the things once you're in them. I've also talked to engineering about adding on to the desk that is out there. The desk is immense but there is nothing on the side of it and all the wires and ugly computer.
They want me to come up with a way to make the area more inviting and professional looking. I'm going to redo all the history albums, new books and better picture lay out. I may have to just take those home with me and reorganize them in front of the TV at night.
Oh another "bonus" of switching positions (sarcasm intended) I get to be assistant to the three most difficult people in the office. Yippee!
ONTO TODAY
Today I did the CTRC Run For Life at Breckenridge park. It's a 5k run/walk for the Cancer Therapy Research Center and is to raise awareness for the Breast Cancer and Colon Cancer screening programs (Bosom Buddies and Man Alive) and such that they have there. I was with a group from work, about 8-10 of us. I walked most of it but I must brag that it was a very brisk walk and I finished in 50 minutes. Thank God it was a beautiful day this morning. The walk started at 8:30 AM and by 10:30 I was home and recovering. :-) A couple of the girls ran it and finished in 28 and 30 minutes. Very impressive. More power to them, but like I said, I walked. No way I was even going to try running.
Lazy butt that I am came home, showered, and fell into bed again at noon and didn't wake up until 7:30 pm. At wich time I wake up and can barely walk my thighs and feet were so stiff.
MISC.
I joined the Blockbuster online program that is similar to Netflix. So far it's cool. Along with the movies in the mail I get two coupons a month for free in store rentals. So far I'm very happy with the service.
I do have a question though for those of you with Netflix. If a certain movie is the "special edition" with 2 discs do you get both discs or do they only send the movie disc? I ask becuase I got Underworld "SE" and was very disappointed that I didn't get the other disc with all the extras on it. I'm an extras type of girl, I like watching the making of and all that stuff. Anyway just wondering.
Working out - I've been working out pretty religiously lately. Much better than I was anyway. I've started attending the Yogalates class. It's a blend of Yoga, Pilates and Balet moves. Very awesome. The first time I did it I was sore until Sunday from the Thursday class. After only 5 classes I've even noticed that I'm able to stretch further and hold the advanced positions longer. I tell you though I've never sweat at much as I do in that class. I love it.
Anywho that's all my puny attention span can handle right now. Sorry I haven't been reading this stuff lately. Once I settle into my new position hopefully I'll get back to normal. Laters.
